A Long night away

This past Saturday was the first time since I had the baby almost 5 months ago that I spent the night away from him.  Knowing that I was anxious about this I made sure that I packed 2 very important oils for myself,  Joy and Stress Away.  My husband (whose birthday was the cause for this 'relaxing night away') also knew I was not entirely on board with leaving the baby for the night.  I was not anxious because I did not think he would be cared for or that he would not get spoiled but I was anxious because it would be my first night away and no other reason.  My husband was WONDERFUL to me that night.  Before we went walking the streets of downtown New Orleans after we checked into our hotel he fixed me a bath with Joy oil in it.  He KNEW just what to do.  Although I did think about the baby pretty much most of the night I was able to enjoy my time with JUST my husband and knew that my 4 children were being well cared for.  Would I have survived the night without my precious oils, Yes I probably would have BUT I truly believe that it was because of my Joy bath that I was able to relax a little more and find more Joy in my time away.

A Change is Afoot and Fever GO AWAY

So a little over a week ago we go in Progessence Plus for Audrey as well as Release.  Audrey has always had issues with being angry and lashing out.  When I say always I mean it started when she was still a toddler.  Of course we laughed this off as just her being a typical toddler but it has not stopped......EVER..... that is until now.  Once we got the oils in we began applying them twice a day to the inside of her wrists (once before school and once when she got home).  We noticed a difference in her almost instantly.  The following is the post her dad wrote a mere 4 days after we started her on the oils:
After having 4 days of consistent Awesomeness I can finally post this. My oldest daughter was out of control and it was just getting worst. She was being very rude and disrespectful even taking her anger out on her brothers and sisters at times. I really can't verbally describe how concern I was about her well being last week. Christine and I put her on Progessence Plus and Release starting Friday. Progessence Plus to address any imbalances she may be experiencing and Release is used to help with her anger. The change in her behavior has blown both of us away. Peace has been restored in our house. Thank GOD!!!!

Not long after that we had a chance to see if it really was making a difference or not and this is what he had to say then:
God help us all in this house tonight. My daughter didn't put her oils on this morning before school. The wicked witch of the South has returned. We have moved to Defcon 1 in this house and all diffusers are running putting release in the air. I need it to not become angry with her attitude right now. Even more reassurance the girl needs these oils to help her deal with her issues.

This is yet another example of the peace and harmony that has found its way into our house since we began this oiling protocol:

My daughter Audrey is actually letting her brother watch her play an electronic game without yelling at him. She had her arm around him and being nice and loveable to him......It's a Miracle......So happy we found the 2 oils that work for her. I am going to stock pile Progessence Plus and Release so we never have fighting in the house again.

I must say that even though she is giggly and giddy in these oils I would MUCH rather this child to the 'pea soup spitting, head spinning' child that she is when she is all out of whack emotionally.

  High temps BE GONE!!
This part is very unplanned , and somewhat an unwelcome part of my blog today.  Ok so maybe it is a little welcome here.  Last night Little Man Joseph decided he needed to get his first high temp ever.  When his dad got him out of his bed after his afternoon/ evening nap (he got up about 6), his daddy noticed that he felt more warm than what is normal 'just being covered up' warm.  I took his temp and it was a little over 101.  We turned to one of our favorite resources and read what we should do for a higher than normal temps in this book:

We followed all of the directions that it gives for a baby and his tamp went from the 101 it was down to about 99 in only about 30 minutes.  He has not been extra warm since then.

I have no idea how we did things the way we did before we started oiling.  I know we used over the counter medicines but I NEVER remember them working this well nor this fast and I KNOW there were many more side effects with those medicines and warnings than there are with the oils.  With the over the counter medicines I was always so afraid of the kids getting a hold of the bottles and getting them open and ingesting them.  With the oils I am not worried about this.

If you need more information on the oils feel free to contact me wither on Facebook  (Christine Bruce Touchet) or on email @ tazz774@live.com

Hope to hear from you soon.  Maybe we can schedule a class for you and your friends and family to learn more about the helping powers of the oils.  Joseph tested and Joseph approved!

What happens when wasps sting

So this past weekend Audrey was outside with the dogs and I was in the back of the house. She comes in the house screaming crying. When I find out what happened, I find out that she had gotten stung by a wasp on her shoulder and on her elbow. I tell myself I know what to do for this one. I got my thieves oil out and put it on both spots. It is our go to for pretty much everything and it has numbing properties as well as antibiotic properties. I applied one drop to each spot and then followed up with lavender oil. I knew she was hurting so I did not take a 'before' picture but I did take a picture right after applying the oils. I then took a picture about 15-20 minutes later and the difference is one that simply has to be seen to be believed (hence me attaching pictures). I am amazed that by the next day you could only tell that it was there by knowing it was there and REALLY looking for it.

Right after it happened (oils applied)

15 -20 minutes after oils

The next day

Well I know this blog is short but I am trying to keep them short so that it is easier for people to take a few minutes to read them.

God bless and happy oiling.

My favorite oils for the baby

Okay so sorry I skipped the weekend for posting and probably will most weeks as that is family time for us but here is the new post:

Today I have decided the topic I want to go into is what oils I absolutely LOVE to use with the baby.  First let me introduce you to the baby. His name is Joseph and he is now 3 months old.

My first favorite oil is Gentle Baby. Every night I put about 4 drops in his bath (I say about because every now and then an extra drop falls). I have been doing this every single night since he was about a month and a half old. We find that since we started doing this he has slept so much better.   He sleeps from around 8:30- 9 until around 7:30 - 8 in the morning, sometimes a little later. I have been told on occasion by my husband that he sometimes thinks about taking a bath in the Gentle Baby as well.

The second oil I like to use on him is lavender. I was able to get rid of his first case of cradle cap in only 2 days by using lavender oil straight in his head and then using his little brush he got from the hospital to scrub it.   I was amazed by the speed at which it healed.  Every so often I use it as just a preventative treatment for his head to keep the cradle cap from coming back.

What other products do I use on him?  Well, I use the lavender shampoo. One day I decided to let him 'smell like a baby' and used the Johnson's baby wash on him and I am still fighting a rash on his head from the chemicals in there. I also like to use something called Animal Scents. on him (and myself).  It is very moisturizing and we LOVE IT.

Well I guess that is it for now.  If you ever have a question about our Young Living experience please feel free to contact me and I will give you more info.

Audrey's turn to guest blog.

This is my daughter Audrey.  I asked her to tell me what her favorite oils were and she told me "ALL OF THEM"  I figured I needed to take another approach with her so instead I told her to pretend she could only take ONE oil with her when she was leaving to go somewhere then I extended it to 2 then relented and let her have a third (after she begged for just one more).  The following will be her thoughts on each of these 3 oils.  I am asking her to give me her thoughts and then putting it into complete thoughts for her.

Her first choice was Aroma Seiz.  She chose this oil as her first choice because she was recently diagnosed with a condition called xiphoiditis and it seems to provide her relief when it starts to hurt her.  She has tried other oils for this condition but this one seems to be the only one that helps.  The  first oil she tried was Panaway and she says that one was not strong enough for her.

Her next choice was Lemon.  This one I find funny but not surprising at all.  I have found her adding it to her drinks on occasion including in her NingXia Red.  I asked her why else she liked this oil and she said she did not really know because she has never really thought about it.  She does however like the fact that it is not sweet but also not sour at the same time.  She also likes it to make lemonade because it is easier than squeezing lemons.

When begging for one more oil this this next oil she was begging for by name, not just asking for another oil in the generic sense.  Her last oil that she wanted was Thieves oil.  She likes this oil because it has many different uses. One way she uses it (that she says surprised her) is for bug bites.  When she applies it to a bug bite it may 'burn or sting a little' but then you almost forget that you even have the bite until you see it again.  She also likes it for use when you have a sore throat or a cold.  She has used it in the same manner as I did with my first experience.  If you do not know what I am referring to visit my first blog (labeled who we are and why we oil).  She also likes the fact that it tends to keep you healthier when applied to the bottoms of your feet or ingested.

Asked how she feels about us starting to use the oils this is what she had to say:  Since we started using the oils, I have seen a big difference in our lifestyle in that we have not gotten sick as often.  You can use certain oils on pets.  We have started relying on the oils more than the medicines and drugs that are prescribed today.  I believe that medicines can destroy your body when used too much but the oils on the other hand are natural herbs and fruits from the earth itself.  The oils are also good for purifying your home and making it cleaner without harsh chemicals that are harmful to your body.  The oils are also good to use on little children including young babies (like my baby brother, for example lavender shampoo & the other Lavender products).  The lavender lotion is also a good product that I like to use.  It has stopped my skin from drying out so much.  I used to apply other lotion products several times a day where with the lavender lotion I can apply it only one or two times a day.

Asked what she would say to you, the readers, this was her advice:  I hope you try the Young Living essential oils someday and that your life will be changed with their use just as ours were when we started to get away from the harsh chemicals.

Who we are and why we oil

I am Christine, I am a mom, a wife, a daughter & a friend.  I am married to Roy and we have 4 wonderful & beautiful children.First we have Audrey, then there is Catherine followed by Jason and then our newest little surprise (10 years after the rest) Joseph.  We also have three 4-legged babies whom you will come to meet as well over the course of this journey we hope you will take with us.

We have only been part of the Young Living oiling family for a little under 2 years now (wow it does not seem like it has been that long) and are looking forward to many more years.  My first experience with the oils that hooked me was when I went to an oil party by a fellow member.  I was not feeling well and had a sore throat at the time and almost did not go due to that fact, after all, I did not want to get anyone else sick.  Well I am glad I did go.  While there my good friend and mentor on this journey decided to 'treat me' for my illness.  I, like most people I know, was skeptical and wanted NO PART of this Voodoo.  Well I decided what could it hurt, I mean I am already not feeling well, it can not hurt to just try it, I mean my friend has never steered me wrong before and if I hate it no big deal I will just 'not buy in to it'.  So, What did she give me you ask.  She gave me a small shot glass of NingXia Red with a drop or 2 of Thieves in it.  After taking it I asked if it was normal to have a slight burning sensation down my throat.  I was told yes but then given a spoonful of Coconut oil to take to 'dilute' the oils.  That did not go down quite as easily, LOL.  Before I left their house I was feeling 75% better and by the next day I was back to almost 100%.  This was enough to not only 'sell' me on the oils but also it sold my husband on the oils.

When we had decided to sign up we were not in a position to spend much money so we opted to simply get the $40 membership. Looking back now it would have been more economical for us to invest in the premier starter kit but that is ok. Since we have been oiling we have gifted a couple of people with starter kits and it has helped them to become healthier, happier people.

If you would like to join us in our healthier lifestyle or would just like to learn more about what the oils have done for us and what they could do for you, please let us know and we would love to talk to you more about it. If you already oil great we would love to hear from you as well as to what the oils have done for you. Wherever you are in your oil journey please stick around as we share our lives with you.
